We are well versed in the curriculum standards that are required by grade level in our home state of North Carolina. Many standards have been met prior to initiating the school year due to the asynchronous approach to learning that our students embrace. The standards we monitor include: Common Core State Standards for Math and ELA, Next Generation Science Standards, and North Carolina Essential Standards for Social Studies. The standards are tracked over the course of the year but are not covered in a linear fashion. We instead go where the student’s interests and passions lead us and weave the standards into our experiences.

In other words, you will not find a set of curriculum books in our school that we diligently work from every week. In fact, you won’t find worksheets at all. Instead, you will find a mixture of high quality resources, many significantly above grade level standards, that we use heavily for a period of time before transitioning to a new set of resources.
